The LogiNet team provided complex solutions to transform the Office Depot Hungary webshop; the user-friendly interface of the new system contributes to the continued success of one of the leading players in the Hungarian stationery market. Web analytics reveals that, compared to the same period last year, the conversion rate increased by nearly 50% following the launch of the new webshop. The Office Depot online store was operated by LogiNet until October 2020.
Office Depot Hungary is the only company in Hungary that offers a full range of fixtures and fittings — whether it's for a home office or office building. Their portfolio currently includes more than 16,000 articles, including 700 products from their own label. For more than four years, we have been supporting the continued operation of their webshop, so it was especially important for us to be chosen as a partner for their new development project.
The optimizing and updating of the previous store — the previous project in 2018 — (also developed by LogiNet) lasted nearly eight months. During the development and ongoing operation of their previous webshop, our team gained essential experience that has brought significant benefits to the more current project.
The redesign was based on our corporate e-commerce framework, LogiNet Webshop Ecosystem, which has all the features needed for web and mobile sales and order service. The project resulted in an up-to-date, user-friendly interface with a responsive design that easily and reliably handles desktop and mobile functions. In the background, CMS (Content Management System) helps manage content, banners, and pages with terms and conditions.
It was a real challenge for our experts to communicate with Office Depot backend systems such as Oracle JD Edwards, but using our past experience we were able to overcome the difficulties. We integrated the unique, well-functioning solutions from the previous webshop into the new system, according to the suggestions of Office Depot experts.
Our experienced PHP developers dedicated to the project were also assisted by a senior technology and business consultant during the design process. Our developers and 22.design UX specialists suggested to our partner, among other things, solutions that improve the user experience — such as a simple, efficient registration interface, or a clear view of product categories. The site also offers social media login with a Facebook or Google account. As we intended, the graphic designers' vision of streamlined graphics and a transparent structure contributes to customer satisfaction. Our colleagues are also involved in further development support of the webshop.
